I think you would be surprised on how small of a plant will actually bloom. I had a division with only 5 growths and it flowered for me!

Mine sort of has a strong cinnomon type smell.

Hijack away...I don't mind

I think, I'm going to have to try and find one of these. I like both scents mentioned, and the flower is neat.

cute!
OBer shadytrake sent me a division of this a few months ago - (thanks Melissa!) I mounted mine on a piece of grapewood. Any tricks I need to know? or just warm and moist with moderate light?
thanks
and good growing!

I love mine. I have one in a pot with sphag and it spreads across the pot fast. I cut off a couple of pieces and put on a dried cactus stem. It seems to be spreading fast as well. Mine blooms periodically throughout the year and I keep it in semi shaded conditions under some of the catts and it seems to do fine. I water the mounted one every day and the potted about every two to three days, keeping the sphag damp but not dripping. Betty

thank you! I just noticed new growth a few days ago - so I guess it's reasonably happy at the moment. Wish me luck! lol

Well, Betty, I can't say I'm having the greatest luck with this... I have 2 pieces of 3 or 4 bulbs and nothing is happening... in fact the bulbs look more like they are not taking up water because they are shrinking!!!! Very disappointed

I've had one for about a year now, and i have never seen blooms. I have it in a well ventilated aquarium that is pretty humid, about 70-80% at around 80 degrees. I think there is a day/night temp of 80/70. Its also been on 24hr light for about two months now. Im going to change that pretty soon to something like 16/8. They actually seem to love that, along with all the other plants with them, not to forget the algea blooms. I havn't fertilized them at all, but i think there is some slow relase fertilizers in with the sphagnum moss.

Doesn't a shock with humidity cause them to bloom?
