Default Bulb. echinolabium x Jersey

Bought this 2 weeks ago at Art Stone. I just had to have it as I LOVE echinolabium!
Rather than answer the question that I know Sue will ask, I've included a photo that will answer her question about all bulbo's...Does it stink!

WOWWEE!! Gosh is that beautiful. Fantastic red coloring and shape. Thank goodness that fly appreciates the Bulbo's fragrance.

Wow wow wow. I can't wait to start collecting Bulbos. I'm infatuated with echnolabium, but my SO has a "sensitive" nose. Blah, one of these days I'll just do it and he can just wear a nose clip.

This hybrid is gorgeous!

So this is the scientific standard for Bulbophyllum fragrance!!!! Geezz, how come I didn't know that! I guess I just didn't do enough research before I posted my thread about Bulb's fragrance.... BTW, nice flower

Not all of them smell bad, but if you see flies circling around, it's a pretty good sign that it's a stinker! LOL

A lot of red, especially on the lip, is a good sign it's a stinker. that one has a crazy amount of red.
Nice looking flower though. and great pictures.

...And most Bulbos don't actually "reek" unless you stick your nose right into the flower. They certainly don't smell anywhere near as bad as succulent Stapelias; I had a big one of those, Stapelia grandiflora, with plate-sized starfish flowers, that had to be moved outside WAY away from the house whenever it bloomed.
