Default Bulb lobii: new growth or inflorescence?

Hey all, I have a new addition: Bulbo lobii and the last growth has matured up early in the spring, but now there are 2 slender nubbins growing out at ~90degrees from the rhizome from the base of 2 pseudobulbs. My question is, how can these new nubbins be identified as inflorescences or new growths...before it's actually obvious?
Thanks,
Karmen
