This a primary hybrid between lobbii and leysanianum. They grow very bright (next to my Catt amethystoglossas) and if you stick your nose right next to the flowers they smell like dirty gym socks! The scent is fairly week though, so no worries about stinking up the growing area! You will notice that one of our black ladybugs makes a cameo in some of the pics. These guys live in the thousands around my house and the adults and larvae are just EVERYWHERE all year round! On the one hand its nice to have such predatory insects, but on the other hand its a little unnerving to know that there are enough aphids around my orchids to support such a massive population of predators! Luckily there must be something much tastier around for the aphids to suck on because I have almost no problems with them on my 'chids. Enjoy!
