Wow, very cool. Watermelon smells RULE!!! According to this french website, it is indeed perfumed rather than a stinker. Now I really want this one. Mmmmmm Watermelon!

None of my Bulbos seem all that fussy about humidity; they all bloom happily in normal room conditions. I did notice a big (positive) difference when I increased the air circulation with a bigger fan set closer to the plants. Hope this helps some, but as we all know, everyone's growing conditions are different!
Thanks very much, Stephen. Mine is due for a repot so I'll see if that perks it up for me.

Hey Stephen,

Very cool! I love to hear that a bulbo can smell pleasant…and that not all are stinkers.

Congrats to you on blooming this beauty!
Thanks for sharing it with us.

They're all so strange and different that once you get started with them, it's hard to stop. Especially once you realize how easy most of them are, and that even the "stinky" ones only really stink if you stick your nose right inside them. I've now got about a dozen different species, and still looking for more.

My Bulbophyllum longissimum is quite small and now has no leaves at all, just the pbulbs. I have it in tree fern in a small plastic basket pot. I've been keeping it quite moist since we've had extremely hot weather. It doesn't get direct sunlight but good indirect light. Any suggestions to perk this thing up?

All my Bulbos including this one really decided they were much happier when I increased the air flow. I also fed them a bit more often, but weakly. I had been feeding previously only once a month with my other plants, but started feeding the Bulbos about every week to ten days, MSU about half-strength.
