I have had other links from Home Depot do this. To make it look more informative in your post, if you edit the post after submitting it, you'll see where that text is (just before the"[/url]" ... you can edit that bit of text to say something more useful, and submit the revised post, same link with better text.

DC, how's the Bulbo phal doing in the new setup? Mine is doing alright I think, but I've been away from home a lot lately and can't water every day or so. It's been hot and windy up here so everything is drying out faster than I'd expect. New growth looks good though, so hopefully it's happy in spite of everything!

I have one of these along with an Echinolabium and a Jersey. I can’t wait for mine to bloom but it’s still a long way off I think. They are part of my “sideshow” of bizarre plants.

Mine is still pretty far off too I believe, there's 2 pseudobulbs and 1 new growth at this point. New growth is looking good, I will add a pic when I get back home.

I want to add a Bulbophyllum Macrobulbon ‘Magnifico’ to the collection. Small specimens are available but I'm looking at a larger size. Would be the most expensive plant in my collection but worth it probably. If I've learned anything is to get as big a orchid as you can, unless you're super patient!

hahaha, yes! that is the way but i find younger (cheaper) one creeping in between larger purchases LOL

the bulb phal is much happier...i have two swollen eyes on the most recent bulb and the roots have swollen and started to grow! i think it has something to do with the warmer weather and increased rains too but i am delighted to see her looking so much healthier.

Forgot about putting an update on this from a few weeks ago! Since it's been like living in Miami up here the last week or so I think my phal's new growth has tripled in sizein that time! It's been so hot and humid but the plants are loving it !

Really hoping for some strong growth in the next 2 months!

I tear the top of the coir off so it is about a three inch deep bowl and I add some chopped sphag and a little chunky bark

That’s it. They love the coir mat and the sphag add enough moisture that they crave. Plus you never have to repot you can just add a bit more coir to the basket as they will grow up down and wherever they damn well please lol
Hey DirtyCoconuts I know this post is old but I was searching around for ideas on what to do with my Elizabeth Ann Buckleberry orchids and ran across this.

You still use the original wire basket but just trim the top of the coir liner? This sounds like a way better option than mounting .

Yes. It’s great. I have asleep been messing with wet mounts which are rock wool burritos and then tying the plant on. I’ll throw in a pic. The only downside to the baskets is the space. I hang all my bulbos no matter how I have them set up (basket mount or pot) and the vertical wet mounts take up less area than the larger baskets.

I am no expert but I try to pair the climbers with the veritcal mount and the ramblers in the baskets
