UK/ EU supplier of Macrobulbon section ?
Default UK/ EU supplier of Macrobulbon section ?

Hi, I’m new to this site, so please excuse me if I’m posting this in the wrong forum (and let me know where it should go..). I'm currently based in London UK.

Does anyone know of any nurseries in the UK / EU that can supply any of the Bulbophyllum ‘Macrobulbon’ section (and also possibly B. beccarii) ? I’ve managed to source B. phalaenopsis, but I can’t locate any of the others.

There seem to be a number of places outside this geographical area that have at least some of these, but most of those that I’ve found don’t ship to the UK, and for those that apparently do I’m wary of falling foul of the paperwork needed for Import. There’s a place in Japan that will ship, and offers to take care of the Phytosanitary and CITES stuff, but they charge 300 $US for the that service, so it’s not really sensible money for just a handful of plants.

Thanks a lot, Bob W.

Pretty hard to find those plants. Some times Orchids & More (Germany) has some import. A friend of mine has B. beccarii brought in a show as a no rooted little piece from an East Vendor. Also check at orchidwubben (quality of plants may vary).

I'm not very familar with Bulbos in general, so can't offer much help. You could try contacting Roelke orchideen in Germany, I know that they order a lot of plants from Asia and South America and I think I've seen pre-order lists for those imports in the past. They do have flasks of B.agastor now. Bulbophyllum agastor OP

I hope for you that the Brexit mess isn't going to cut you off from EU vendors, otherwise it will become rather impossible to get a hold of rare or unusual orchids!
