As a plant seller, please allow me to elaborate.

I am always careful to state:
  • In the greenhouse, I can grow this plant to BS in X years (X =1, 2 or 3).
  • In the house, it will likely take a little longer.

In the intergeneric Oncidium group, I expect a well grown young plant to increase the size of the next bulb by a factor of 2-3. From that perspective, the plant in question might bloom on the next growth, but it is by no means guaranteed.

In my book, that plant should have been sold as NBS (=> it won't bloom on the next new growth, but it should bloom on the following new growth).
