ohhh I’m so happy!!! I have neglected this guy to the point where it hurt my soul this winter. Lol. It’s hard watching such pretty fat canes shrivel down to wrinkles. But it’s giving me two new spikes. It also has two new growths starting and roots popping out. I mounted this division onto the rock around June of 18. I ran spagnum around the roots and down one side of the rock. I filled a clay saucer with loose spagnum and live moss. During summer it got full NW Florida sun from about 1PM till sundown. Canes are pretty red in summer. I burned leaves on the back bulbs trying for noon till dark sun. Funny tho, those are the two bulbs with spikes. I keep the saucer near full of water and it wicks up to the roots. I fed weekly. Sometimes more. I haven’t watered since Halloween until today. In about two months I’ll hopefully be posting some blooms. I do have a question of when I should start feeding again?

Good for you, you've found the right method for your area! I left one of mine outside this winter--I think it's a goner, although we haven't had many nights in the 30s.
