Root or spike? Male
Default Root or spike?

Hey guys..

What do you reckon? A root or a spike?
I know it's early but I thought it'd be fun to guess..

Plus it's the first time for me so I'm impatient and excited!

I'm thinking spike, but you'll know for sure soon.

As JScott says, it doesn't look like a root and it's coming from a relatively unusual (though far from impossible) point on the plant. Roots tend to come from the side of the stem but I've had them emerge from between leaves, too. Spikes usually come from between leaves so keep your fingers crossed!

I think it looks like a spike - roots are usually more rounded- this has the "mitten" shape of an emerging spike.

Congratulations on getting your first spike.
