Flower stalk growing up against leaf

A flower stalk has appeared on my phal, but it is growing underneath and touching a leaf above. What do I do, please?

Let it grow. When the spike is a little longer, you can "train" it with gentle staking. But if it is just touching the leaf, it will figure out its way around the leaf, and once it emerges you can gently direct it.

Also--the flower spikes tend to grow toward light. If you can turn the plant so there's more light on the side you want the spike to go, it might provide a little guidance.

Additional information: in Phals the flower spikes grow between leaves so it's perfectly normal for them to touch the upper leaf.

Hello. I currently have several mini phal NOIDs that are in spike, and one of them is doing exactly what you are describing. Yesterday I noticed that the tiny tip of the spike is now catching the light, (I am growing about half my collection under lights) and it's beginning to 'reach' toward it. Good luck! I'm always so excited when I have new spikes
