I pretty much buy all of my supplies from Kelly's Korner. It helps that I live in the same state so I get cheaper and overnight shipping!

I find their prices more than fair, their selection is excellent and their service is quick.

As for pots- I prefer Rand's AirCone pots for anything growing "regularly" as in not in S/H. Cool growers may go in clay though and the Stanhopeas go in big, plastic hanging baskets.

Well, I am in Spain I grow in a greenhouse overwinter and under shade outside in the summer
Temp ranges outside, minus 8C in a bad winter, 47 C summer.

Everything that can go on a mount, goes on a mount. The only exceptions are the large Phals, the Paphs and Phrags, and the Catasetinae.
I use shallow pots of plastic that I make myself from cut and shut on two different sizes of pots. This gives me 8" diam pots that are about 4 inches deep. The large Phals go into 14 inch diam pots that are about 6 inches deep as the coarse bark renders them immune to overpotting.

Next year the Cats will go into a version of S/H as they did well on a halfway house system this year.

What does S/H stand for? I have had good luck with clay and plastic pots, but my collection is starting to outgrow all of them.

Semi-hydroponic growing. There is a forum of threads devoted to it. Click on Forums in the left menu and scroll down.

Wow! I've never heard of this option. Sounds like it works well for Phals, which is what I have. I will definitely have to look into it as an option for replanting.

S/H works well for Phals if you do it right. Read, read read.

And I forgot to give a link to the inventor of S/H, Ray. He posts here on Orchid Board. If you go to his business, Treat Your Plants Right! - First Rays LLC and click on Free Information you will find vast amount to learn about semi-hydroponics and fertilizer.
