Default Oncidium Irish Mist 'Winter Green' has brown pseudobulbs

Hi,
I'm a fairly new orchid collector and so far I've had pretty good luck with grocery store phaleanopsis. I decided to try an Oncidium Irish Mist 'Wintergreen' from Trader Joe's. They had two, and both had pseudobulbs that looked like this, but I picked the one that appeared to be in better shape.
I know wrinkles on pseudobulbs and wrinkles in leaves often mean dehydration. It's the yellow-brown color of the bulbs that concerns me. I cut the flower spike, and re-potted it in a new pot with fresh media and watered it. I didn't see evidence of snails or slugs deep in the roots, crown or leaf folds. Any ideas as to what the discoloration might indicate?

(I'm not sure why, but the pictures are sideways. Hopefully what I'm talking about is visible).

I have one of these that I got from Gold Country Orchids. It is in bloom and currently making a second spike on another p-bulb. The bulbs are deeply ridged, even the newest one. They are also more on the yellow side than many oncidiums. I have been wondering about that, but I am now thinking it might be a result of high light. How did the roots look on yours?

Mine has a few leaves that are pleated on the oldest p-bulbs, so at one time it did get too dry, but the newer leaves are fine. Can you see any pleating on yours?

There is some very minor pleating on two of the leaves. The roots were generally OK I think. There were a lot of them, and a few that I had to cut. The roots were tightly wound towards the base of the pseudobulbs, and I loosened them as best as I could. Some even had moss growing on them. There was also some old dark gray foam shoved up into the root ball that disintigrated easily.
The worst looking pseudobulb had its base sticking up out of the media. It looked like it had some nodes that roots normally would have grown from, but there were none.
