Miltassia Shelob has a lovely fragrance. It reminds me of my Neostylis Lou Sneary 'Bluebird', but maybe a bit milder and muskier. I forget about it, and then when I'm watering my plants, I'll pick it up from about 3 feet away and I'm like, what is that awesome smell?? And then I turn my head and oh yeah, Shelob is right there.

My very favorite fragrance was always from my Trichoglottis wenzellii. One tiny flower would fill the whole bedroom with a very pleasant scent. Sadly this plant didn't survive my house flooding and moving. I have been searching for another one for years.

Brassavola digbiana! what fascinates me about it: during the day there is no hint in the air of a blooming orchid but as soon as the sun starts going down they fill my garden with this amazing fragrance!

This is going to sound a bit crazy, but I suspect this species is possibly pollinated by a small nectar eating nocturnal bat...

Either that, or the more conventional nocturnal moth.

Regardless of which, the flower is trying to attract a nocturnal pollinator, that's for certain.

I have a new favorite, bought in 2010 in a Lowe's Baggie, Cattleya Bactia "Grape Wax". which has a wonderful fragrance, and each growth has 8 lovely deep purple flowers, now blooming on my back porch. If I knew how to get a photo on this site I would.

Add Seidenfadenia mitrata to the list. Tiny flowers w/a big fragrance.

Ray, I'm a beginner but one of my sale table adoptees gave me 3 long spikes, one of which is in full bloom. I think it is an Oncidium Dancing Lady (the flowers look like a lady in a gown). It has a wonderful strong sweet smell (my opinion). Good luck with your search!

I agree with Sharry baby, although it's been mentioned 12345678 times already. Oncidium Twinkle is pretty nice ; has much smaller flowers, but more of an abundance of them.

They smell like Sharry baby, but with more of a sweet vanilla scent than Sharry baby. Mine only has two nice opened flowers and they smell pretty strongly. Can't wait to see what four flowering spikes at once is going to smell like!
