Just added Vanda Tessallata to my list of scented orchids. Love that "Jasmine Green Tea" scent.

I also check with a local nursery about scented orchids and seems like their have quite a number in flowering sizes.

Waiting for a weekend where I'm free to pop over.

Just found out that my V.Tessellata is in fact V. Mimi Palmer, a hybrid between V. Tan Chay Yan x V. Tessellata. It's still fragrant though.

Made a trip to a nursery today, but not rewarded with much scented ones as they were not in bloom. The Phal violacae was just spiking but did not look healthy, yellow leaves , so i did not buy it.

Ended my day with the only fragrant orchid, Dendrobium Thai Jasmine. My wife got a Phal. amabilis (not scent as only some var are scented), Phal. Gold Tris (hybrid), Bllra Marfitch Howard's Dream and Aranada Bertha Braga.

I don't known if was already said, but today i have found this article that speak about Dendrobium Superbum (now known as Dendrobium anosmum) and she said:
Quote:
The Dendrobium superbum has a distinct sweet smell that is almost cloying.
You can see full baskets in bloom with ... canes cascading almost to the ground and the "intoxicating" smell can waft over a whole neighbourhood.
So should be something really a lot strong!

Here others types:
Fragrant cattleya types
Fragrant cymbidiums
specie ed ibridi di orchidee fragranti
Him said that anosmum have a scent of rabarbaro.
Quote:
Oncidium Sharry Baby ‘Sweet Fragrance’ said that the scent smell of hot chocolate with just a slight taste of vanilla. And even this:
The sweet scent of the flowers of Oncidium is so "intoxicant" that in some cases can also be regarded as excessive.
Nice!

hehe - I have Onc. Sharry Baby 'Sweet Fragrance' - and it's a very strong fragrance - mine was outdoors while blooming, and when I was out there watering, even a few feet from the plant, it could be over-powering - and that was only with one spike, and it was actually quite fragrant for several weeks

That one really does have a nice scent. I just wish it would last longer.

There was one of these at my local society and I learned you must be careful because the old bulbs will have sharp thorn like spikes that will cut you. It really surprised me, but the plant still was cool.

I'm a succor for falcata... I love gardenias and when these are flowering its like going back to my Mom's garden when I was a kid. My favorite of those I've smelled so far!

I have to add Cattleya mossiae, gaskelliana, and trianaei.

My C. gaskelliana is almost overpowering if you get too close.
