Personally, i would pot the epi because it likes to be moist and i don't have time to water every day. If your schedule allows frequent watering then you'll be fine with mounting.

For me though....I would most likely put in a basket (like the one in the pic) and I'd use a moisture retentive mix...then I'd probably set the net pot in a clay pot for stability.

Thanks! I e-mailed Andy since my husband ditched the paperwork that came with them.

I'm surprised he answered so fast after I sent the message. He said either put it in a basket with moisture-retentive media, as you suggested, or mount it with LOTS of moss since it doesn't like to dry out.

Ohio weather...it always makes ordering plants during the winter or summer a gamble. I have been lucky so far with shipping orchids in the winter but lost a Lepanthes one summer when the temperatures unexpectedly spiked.
Yesterday was another lucky break. I had ordered an orchid from Carmela Orchids through Amazon and arrived yesterday, just before the weather changed.

Andy is really great, isn't he?

Check the forecast, order plants, cross fingers.

Andy is definitely great. The plants are super healthy, and he was super quick with answering my questions.

They look pretty happy in the 20 gallon aquarium with mister.

The mister runs an hour, followed by the fan for a 1/2 hour from sunrise to sunset.

All 3 occupants are lower light, constant moisture plants. Now, I need to fill the tank.
