Default Info on our orchid

We received an orchid as a gift from my mother in law as she was moving and didn't want to bring it with her. It had one flower on it when we got it and the flower died about 2 weeks later. We clipped the stem and kept watering it and it started sending out new roots, lots of new roots... It also grew another stem and not with one bud but seven on the main stem and 3 more on an offshoot. While the stem was growing we moved it and the stem partially snapped, we supported it and taped it and it kept growing, I thought it was done for. My question is, it seems like the pot it's in is a little on the small side. One of the roots has come back up out of the moss and started climbing the side of the pot and another isn't even going into the moss at all, it found the side of the pot and seems to have stopped there. Do I need to transplant this orchid?
