Hi
- this is my first post. I started loving orchids with two phalens I bought at a grocery store - the 'ice orchids' - and have had good success. my mother gave me HER sick one and I nursed back to health. I now have 6 phalens - gifts from various people and love them all.
BUT, someone 'gifted' me with an ISOCHILUUS MAJOR in a 4" solid plastic pot. it seems okay healthy - but 'branches?' 'fronds'? whatever are very long and have to keep it up very high. I know it needs repotting - but I cannot find anything online about their care - I don't even know what type of soil I should use - I know the plant is native to Mexico and likes humidity - that's it!!
If anyone knows ANYTHING about Isochilus major - PLEASE let me know what to do!!

p.s.I live in North Central Arkansas in the Ozarks, so get the 4 seasons, some snow, but, so far, all orchids stay inside, with occasional day trips to the front porchin spring and summer - that's as brave as i've gotten with the outdoors so far. but right now it's in the 90's with 60-75% humidity
I know the humidity would probably be good, but the temps seem awfully high...but I will save that for another post!!
