Default Mealybug under control - now I want to kill them

First post so

I have had a Mealybug outbreak. Taking advice from my local orchid grower, McBeans Orchids in Sussex, I used a foliage spray called SB Plant Invigerator. I've sprayed several times now on the two day system that they specify. This put the bugs in check. I must say that many of the plants loved the feed!

It seems to have worked on my Zygopetalum, Brassia, Paph Maudiae, Rossioglossum and Howeara, so I have moved these away from still infected plants.

The remainders are a large (6 inch pot being spit by roots & shoots with plant over 1ft across) Masde Coriacea and a large (6 inch pot a 2 2ft flower spikes) Phalaenopsis.

I really want to just kill them now rather than control them! I saw imacloporid being recomended. Does anyone know of an orchid friendly chemical containing imacloporid that is available in the U.K.?

Thanks in advance

Calypso by Bayer.
Really effective, once per week, during 3 wks.

Repot, dump the potting mix & spray bare plant with Bayer rose spray.

I did it once & they seem to be gone

Bayer Rose products work very well. Definitely you need to change out the potting medium, though, if you want to really get rid of mealies. I mix up a gallon in a bucket, take the plant out of the pot and get rid of the medium, and soak the plant for a while, making sure the whole thing gets drenched. Works great!

Wow thanks guys! I'll be raining down death and destruction on those mealybugs very soon

One slightly lazy noob question. If I soak/stand the entire pot in the chosen killer liquid, do I need to change the potting medium?

The potting medium must be replaced imediately and thrown away, far, far away as fast as possible.
I've put mine in a plastic bag before doing anything else, and to the trash it went.
That's the worst contaminant in the entire scenario.

Look for a generic version of Confidor - it's imacloporid, but costs 3 times what the generic version does.
