Default Keiki Question

Hello. I have had one of my phals for well over a year. When I bought it, it was in bloom. After I cut the spike, it produced a keiki. After one year, the keiki still had no roots. Eventually, I tired of that keiki and I felt it was not helping the mother plant, so I snipped off the spike and keiki. I then treated the base of the keiki with rooting hormone and sphag and bagged it. Has anyone ever had a keiki produce roots in this manner? It has been about a month since I severed it, it still has green leaves, but no roots. Thanks for any insight.

Renee
