Default Help with seed pods

Hi folks,

I'm really new to growing orchids from seed (actually never done it before... on purpose at least) and need some help with the timing of seed pods.

Does anyone know when seed pods for various genera mature. I found it a long tima ago on a random website but I can't seem to find it now.

Hmm, I would also suggest asking this same question on the advanced discussion forum. They may have some insight too!

Chadam research found that best results for all considerations was to determine the ripening time of the capsule (orchids do not form pods) on your particular plant (it varies within the species) and take the seed 9% before dehiscense (splitting). You can do green-pod or sterilize safely and get maximum germination.

Hmm... you seem to be familiar with this kind of thing. It's the first time i'm going to try growing orchids from seed. Any advice?
