Looks like a new growth to me. Both my Brassavola Nodosa and my Leptotes bicolor bloom from the leaf, not the base of the pbulb

It is hard to tell in the picture, but it is a little farther up on the leaf and looks much different than a new pseudobulb emerging. It almost looks like a new root, but it seems such a weird place for a root to grow from.

It's hard to tell from the pic but it almost does look like you have a sheath started on the pbulb behind the one that has the new growth on it..

Does look to me a lot like B. cucullata, could also be B. perrinii, a few other possibilities have similar growth habit and terete leaves. All have similar culture - they do prefer a bit of warmth, but it sounds like you have that handled. Looking forward to the blooms!

I don't see a spike in your photo, but I think that you have a nice new root, always a good sign!
