Default Misting timer set up for vanda alliance orchids

im setting up a misting system for all of my vanda alliance orchids and im wondering what I should set the timer to go off for me. it has the options to do it manualy, how often ( every how many hours to how many days) and for how long ( up to 360 min ). It also has the option for whenever you want it to start (say 6am) I have it set to go off every 6 hours starting at 6am for 5 min at a time. I don't know how fine the mist is yet but will be able to tell here soon when I finish setting it up. what does everyone else think about the set up for the timer, and give your opion of watering schedule.

I don't use a timer but, this time of year, I usually water my vandas twice a day. Once in the morning and once again around three or four. I grow a lot of vandas but I'm thinking that every six hours might be a little too much.

yeah im trying to figure out how to set it up to get maximum watering without watering too much during the night time. I water mine also twice a day. I might just have to go out and manually press the water button. I don't know why I said every six hours I have it for ever 12 coming on at 6am and 6pm . I would like to get a third watering in during the day but I cant set it up to do that without having it water in the middle of the night unless I manualy do it in the middle of the day, I guess I never thought about doing it like that I was just trying to hard to do it automatically. so u think 6am and 6pm for 5 min (maybe 10min) depending on how well the mister is. I got it at home depot for 20$ Bil. for 50ft misting kit, there was one you can make poratbele and hook it up to a 5 gallon bucket but that was closer to 100$.

I think me and you have the same automatic mister! I think the 12 hr for 5 to 10 minutes sounds good as long as it's not cold where u like at 6 in the morning.

I think I am stuck with the more expensive one. I have to have a pump as the water pressure here just won't cut it.

My standard timer is once per day in the morning for 20 minutes. On the hot days I'll just manually add extra water when required, usually early to mid afternoon.
