Damaged Vanda - appropriate medium question
I am looking to repot my Vanda tricolor (suavis) that was blown off the tray. The roots were previously surrounded by pieces of broken clay pottery over an eight year period and held together with raffia. Most references show the roots hang freely in a basket but am concerned that this may be an issue keeping humidity levels adequate in WI esp. in winter. Any thoughts on using a medium as Orchiata and clay plellets? The roots look very healthy and I was surprised how many are present. Currently the orchid is placed in a clay pot and misted frequently but that is too much maintenance for me and I want to get it back in a pot where it can continue growing. Any assistance would be appreciated as to what would work or what would not work.
