Orchid leaf burn? New growth on spike?
Default Orchid leaf burn? New growth on spike?

My lovely husband brought home a beautiful, though somewhat sad looking orchid.

I've had it for a few months now. Repotted shortly after receiving it and have been watering normally. She's kept all her flowers through it. The spike is incredibly heavy and practically topples this plant over! I was checking it out and repositioning a skewer to help it balance better and found a growth under a clip!
Is this going to be more flowers? That wasn't there when I received it, and it seems that zero other growth has happened.

Also, what's up with the leaf at the base and the red coloring of the one leaf? None of the other leaves have any red tinge. Some kind of burn? This was there when I received it and hasn't changed at all.

Thanks for any insight!

you have more buds forming on the old spike.
the leaves are fine other than it looks like an animal has been chewing on it at some point. The red color on the leaves is from it reaching its maximum light level before it gets burned. Its anthocyanin, orchid sunscreen. your doing fine and I dont get to say that often enough

Thanks!

It's only on that one leaf out of the five it has. I guess that one leaf is just a sensitive guy, huh? I would've thought it would be on all of them. Interesting stuff.

Thanks again.
