Thank you so much Leafmite. I was hoping it was not some virus. I kept thinking it was probably hard water and such but then I got worried when it came back after I used distilled water. It's a new plant in my collection and I have not had this before. Maybe it still had some hard water or chemical still in it's system and it came back out after I rewatered with distilled. Thanks again for the peace of mind.

Hausermann's is a good place to buy orchids. If they weren't, they would have been out of business a long, long time ago. I think, that before a vendor's plant is accused of being virused, it would be a generous option to have the orchid tested. Many orchid vendors in the US have been going out of business. As customers, we should treat vendors fairly, just as we would want to be treated if we were selling a product. :|
I agree 100% well said leaf mite. Hausermann's has good customer service. If they will send you a new plant after it has been in your care for a month that is good service.
They also sent me a new one when I had an issue when I told them I wanted to pay the difference in the price plus shipping. It was a more expensive plant I was getting and they said no they would take care of it. All my other plants were super healthy and I was very happy with them.
Even if it was virused, it happened on accident and they are making it right.

I don't think hard water is very good for the plants so if your water is hard, you might want to use distilled. The marks, I have heard, can be removed with milk.
If it is fungicide or insecticide, I usually leave it on to protect my plants.

Today Missorchidgirl put out a Youtube video that talks about this very thing. At 6.26 mark is where that part starts. She says the very same thing you said.

DOES I HAVE IT TOO?

everybody.
So, currently I have a purple dendrobium, three phalaenopsis (white red dot, yellow), black leaves jewel orchid, and one white phalaenopsis I saved.
And especially for him I'm here I have a shop near my house of renting apartments fill the houses with bloom orchids which they Drowned in jars of water without holes (because they thought it pretty that way) , so the plants quickly lose flowers and then are thrown in the trash . That hurt the guy so I decided to rebuild it because not like the others he still had a chance. I nicked stems with disinfectant and cinnamon. And started to water once a week / two weeks by the weather. We are still flowering season and perhaps it will have more flowering stems.
Now I saw that the plant is trying to create stems (include photos) that go from the root and not the base of the plant so are they roots or can they be flower spike?
So the questions are:
1) Is there a situation that it is flowering spikes?
2) Should I pot the plant in a new platform, although not finished blooming season because there are many rotten stems (no mold or fungus) or wait?
3) One of the phalaenopsis have a green leave with red dot on it should I worry about that? (It's not yellow so it's not a sunburn right?)
Please help me save the plant.
In addition, if you have any comments about the rest of the plants I'd love more.

The first phals (2 in one pot) doesn't look very healthy. I would at if it is not in fresh mix. I would check for mites and also ensure fertilizer for balanced food since your leave look a little yellow.

The red spotted phal is from higher light, but not too much. Just don't give it any more. you have 2 flower spikes starting on that one and it looks great! Whatever you are doing with that one keep it up!

Question

Many thanks .
I just bought it two weeks ago from the nursery and they told me the purple leave is fine when I bought it's probably nothing . The stems have grown an inch and a half since they are in my window and it is behind a rough Vitrine window curtains part and the rest of orchids have no problem with the light so I doubt that it happened at my care,
also the new shooot in the 2in one are root? put them in media?
thank you very much !

Default Orchid virus common at Hauserman's

Reading this reminded me of similar problems I had with them a few years back. I had bought several hundred dollars of plants and was sent several that looked suspicious. I sent a sample of each to Critter Labs for testing and my fears were confirmed- over 1/4 of them were infected with virus.
I promptly emailed them a copy of the virus report thinking I would get a prompt response. After a couple of days I resent the email and waited again. Finally after a week I called and asked to speak with Gene Hauserman and explained my problem. He wanted to replace the plants, but I was afraid I would end up again with infected plants and asked for my money back. He refused and would only replace the plants.
To make a long story short several of the plants they sent as replacements again tested as virused and they refused to make good on them even when I sent them the second report.
Learned my lesson and will never deal with them again which is too bad since they do have a lot of nice looking plants.

This is a little concerning to me also. When I see this it makes me want to cancel an order I have pending with Hausermann's now. They are just waiting til the weather gets better to ship. I don't really know what the correct thing to do is!

Default Virus at Hausermans

Depends on what you ordered. I had bought several of their older type cattelya plants. I think from constant repotting and the cutting of the blooms without taking the necessary sterilization of cutting tools causes the spread of virus.
I don't know if you have ever been there before but the place is so huge and difficult to maintain. I thnnk some of their workers to save time do not employ good practice .
I have walked thru their greenhouses before and saw blooms that showed signs of virus. I had asked about them and was told there was always going to be some that was virused. All they did was pull out the plants that showed visible virus signs.
The best way to keep virus out of your collection is to test for it.

I would keep your order. From my experience if there is a problem they will make it right. I wouldn't not order from a company you have never tried b/c something MIGHT happen. You would never order anything that way.
