Dendrobium dropped its leaves
Default Dendrobium dropped its leaves

This happened gradually over time, but...it really doesnt have leaves left. They just turn yellow, dry up, and fall off. The canes are still green.

It is in bark, with lava rock on the bottom. I water it maybe every ten days? It is in an east window. Its flowering. The flowers are ugly, but that's a different issue. What's wrong with it?

First picture is what it looked like a month ago. The rest are from today.

I do agree that every 10 days for water is likely insufficient, I would expect canes to shrivel ...
Has this been exposed to low temps?

I just moved it under the grow light. Plants there get care at least every other day. The east window plants get neglected. My phals are in there, and even they get thirsty.

No, that's not too cold. Hmm... well, perhaps just too little water then.

Not all dendrobium require a rest. Some like a stable environment year round.
My general rule is that if the flowers come from the top of the cane, even care year round.
If they come from the sides of the cane, winter rest.

This rule is not steadfast. But I find it seems to work out for the most part with most commercial hybrids.

If you have the name of the Dendrobium you have someone can tell you if it needs a resting period.

I dont think it needs a rest, or it wouldnt be growing up from the bottom.
