I've recently learned that now in addition to fluorescent and HID lights for growing plants, there are low energy LED lighting systems available. The web sites make them sound convincing, but I haven't heard of anyone who has them, and they're certainly in the non-free price category. Anyone tried them?
Never heard of em. I use round philips grow lights , got them from hd they're blue ones, and cheap casings. I grow mainly strap leaf paphs and they seem to be happy.

Actually, I'm running some tests on LED grow lights. I'll just tell you the prelims... the reds they sell are the wrong spectrum (off by 50nm) , the blue seem to work well.
