Wow. Were I nearer, I would br hammering on your door.

A couple of thoughts, - as it is such a beautiful plant, why not prune out a baby and that way you can continue to enjoy it?

Secondly, you say it's a drag soaking it. I stopped soaking mine a month back. I just mist the roots a few times a day. They seem to be quite happy with that.

Absolutely gorgeous...from a distance it's reminiscent of hydrangea, sorta...if you squint...
No doubt someone will remember you forever for this beauty!!

Edit: Note to self...read entire post before commenting...and congrats on a beautiful addition, CambriaWhat!

What a giant! healthy giant! I've seen much taller vandas in botanical garden greenhouses here, but they were all covered with fungal spots and no keikis.
You did such good job raising a bag baby to this status!!!
Sad story, but now it is in a good home!

I would have driven 50miles too. hahaha

Enjoy~

Hi Patti,
I bought it a few years ago at Lowes. It was bag-baby size at the time- only a few inches tall (I'm sure you know the approx. size if you're familiar with Lowes).

Yes, it is indeed a lovely plant...very healthy and has bloomed nicely during the time it lived with me. I certainly enjoyed growing it. Although I've missed it since it is no longer in my care, I'm very pleased that it now has a wonderful new home...no doubt "CambriaWhat" is an awesome orchid dad.

Thanks for your reply,
Vicki

Wow, this is an awesome story!

Cambria, did you divide off some of the keikis? How have you continued to care for this? I know you're in a more humid area than myself (and warmer) however I would still love to know how you both for that matter have turned out such a stunning plant!!!

Thanks for sharing this story period!
