Default something you don't see often

i haven't been on for a while, but i was watering my orchids yesterday and i found that my very first maudiae slipper is making a flower for me. Now i am super excited because it's the first paph that I've had rebloom, but the unusual thing is this fan has already bloomed. Now the back story. I purchased this orchid 3-4 yrs ago,it was in bloom when i purchased it. The flower gave up the ghost after a couple of months. It didn't do really anything for a long time. It finally started to grow a new fan, but it died back to doing nothing for several months, then the original fan started to grow leaves. Now i posted a question asking if that was normal . I am going to post pics once i download onto computer i am on my tablet right now. I am wondering has this happened to anyone else.

I'm not a paph expert but that sounds unusual.

In all my years of collecting and growing plants, one thing I have learned is that there are those plants that just don't follow the rules.

when you say: 'gave up the ghost' =does it mean the plant died? The new leaf that grew on that old plant that died might be a new growth but it used the center of that old dead plant to come out from.
next time you notice leaf browning on new growths, it is bacteria and you need to spray with bactericide.... better yet even if the plants look healthy spray with physan20 to rule out any fungi or bacteria that might be early forming....

Thanks for the replies. Sorry I haven't had a chance to post pics , will try tomorrow. The new fan died not the plant. As you will see with the pics there is only one plant, apparently the new fan dying made eyes in the plant sprout. That's what I was told when I asked why the plant started to grow leaves again. This was my very first paph so I probably had water get into the new fan and didn't realize it. I will try to get photos up tomorrow as I have a funeral to attend Friday.
