I'm in Schenectady New York; my chids are indoor under lights during the winter and outside from about May through September--October lately. I think global warming has reached us, not as cold or as much snow as we used to have 20 years ago--I have the pictures to prove it. But then I like cold and snow having grown up in Quebec Canada!
Hi All, Just my comment from balmy southern Ontario. Of course many orchids can only spend the summer outdoors but we probably have as many commercial growers as BC. I had one aquaintance who's ambition was to own all the Canadian orchids. Of course you would not recognizer many if they were growing in your lawn (were they do grow). The only Slipper orchid I've seen in the wild was at Mooseanee just a stones throw south of James Bay. D-D-
