Hi Mojomick! I have cousins that used to live in Kennewick. One still does. I'm on the other side of the mountains near the Longview/Kelso area. Have you ever been to Orchidaceae, Inc. in Walla Walla or ordered plants from them online? I've been looking at their site and wondering if it would be worth a 6 hour drive.

I live in San Francisco. We're usually between 40 - 80 F, and frequently have a good fog bank nearby or right over top of us. It makes for a great natural replica of a cloud forest at elevation. We do get some hot, dry days throughout the year that can fry a Masdevallia if you're not careful.

I live in Latvia , one of the Baltic countries in Europe. We have cold winters and warm summers. I have ~100 orchids and they all live inside starting from Sept / October
Ok, some cymbidiums I brought inside only 2-3 weeks ago...

And sentences like Hi I live in St. Kitts...Caribbean.... very sunny all year around . Have about 75 orchids, all growing outside under my mango tree.... just make me jealous

I won't brag that i live in tropical Thailand, where I have thousands of orchids and all I need is a shade house to keep the sun down to a reasonable level

i actually feel a bit sad that some countries, orchids need to endure the cold weather. Others have to put them inside their house and put them on a controlled temperature! gees! i salute to everyone who does dat! well same here roger! the only problem ive been experiecing is the low humidity at night! hey hows thailand heard the rallies anyway i hope everything is ok!

Yes everything is ok for now.

With the cool season here at the moment, my orchids are loving it!! Humidity isn't a big problem for me as i have all my land covered with sand that is always wet. With the shade cloth, the sun doesn't get too much of a chance to dry the ground off.
