Hello everyone !

I bought these phal orchids 2 weeks ago for $3 each they were very dry and dehydrated looking I repot them and water as usual once a week and fertilize once a month they look very good already I feel bumpy spots in the spike and also buds coming up I am very happy ! I am not sure if it will be new spikes coming up or keikis I definitely will keep everyone updated

Looking foward to it

Have a nice day all!!

Yay! Three dollar orchids are always awesome!! They are really pretty! I like the one with all the spots!

...on a side note, what do you have them potted in? From your third picture, it almost looks like its got potting soil/peat moss in there with bark? Or is it Spag moss? ...But, it could also be my bad eyesight... ?

Be very careful with miracle grow, make sure that the soil really is completely dry before you water. I would stick a skewer in the pot to make sure is all the way dry.

Nice plants by the way

Plus one, for what SlipperGirl warned regarding MiracleGro. If you can find Better-Gro Phalaenopsis Mix--usually right next to MiracleGro, it costs about US$2 more than the other product--it will be worth your while to repot it ASAP. I made the mistake of repotting my Phals in MiracleGro and within two weeks, the plants were in distress. I found warnings against this product on the OB and got recommendations for the Better-Gro product. There are better potting media that you can mail order but the Better-Gro product is good enough for me.
