Opinion needed

My white flowering Phal. is about to flower again. It has 2 spikes with a total of 18 buds. This Phal has sat on a window sill (east exposure) for the last 3 years and is thriving. It blooms twice a year.

My question is, can I move this orchid away from the window to a spot where it can be seen and appreciated more while it is in flower without shocking it or causing the flowers to fall.

Congrats on your bloomer! Once my Phals are in flower, I move them where I can see them, usually in an area with indirect light...I do return them to their original growing area now and then while in bloom. Phals seem to be very good about this or at least in my experience.

Just make sure you don't move them to a spot that will cause blast. No drafts, no wierd smells (chemicals in the air), and not too dark or bright. Then you should be fine.

Thank you both. I will feel more confident moving the orchid to a display area.
I just purchased a digital camera and will post (show-off) my orchid when it is in full bloom.

I would wait until the spike is fully open before moving. If you move it while in bud the buds will have difficulty reorienting themselves to the lighting in the new area, and as a result you may end up with upside down flowers, or flowers facing the wrong direction. If you wait until they are fully opened that won't happen, and your display will be even more lovely. JMO.
