Default phal ariel root question

Okay so this may be an odd question but do phal ariel roots sometimes have fuzzy stuff on them? I don't think it is a mold but I have never seen this on my other phal orchid roots...

I have seen it in one of mine and it was not mold in my case. But it was one that I had washed. I would try a cotton with mild detergent to see if it comes off easily as mold would.

I've seen that too, though normally where they are in contact with something.

Roots put out something like this to help them grip on to things, not sure why it's formed there, but that's what it looks like.

@RosieC thanks everything around the root looks quite healthy...I would not know either why it would grow that way either.
