Orchids Made Easy book -- any good? Male
Default Orchids Made Easy book -- any good?

Has anyone here seen "Orchids Made Easy" by Ryan Levesque? This is book/e-book that is only available on the corresponding site, orchidsmadeeasy_dot_com (sigh, url filter on noobs like me), so there are no reviews on Amazon or the Net to come by. Some of the tidbits caught my eye on the site, and the newsletter, but I'm always wary of such isolated Net offers. Or are there better books for nascent orchid enthusiasts?

P.S. Search on the Forums produced no hits on the name...

Ryan Levesque - Entrepreneur, Podcaster, Writer

Ryan Levesque serves as President of eBookIt.com, a company providing eBook Conversion, Distribution, Publishing and Print On Demand solutions. this may be why you can't get it off the shelf.

There are so many great books out there, check abebooks for used books at great prices. What are you looking for in a book.? A type of orchid or general care or pollinating?

I'm primarily interested in general care... something a little quicker to answer the typical noob 100 top questions, by conveniently packaging all the answers in a dead-wood format, rather than having to search online each one individually. :-)

Thanks for pointer to abebooks, will check it out.

I've got three books that are quite nice introductions to orchids, I think.

Orchids - Wilma & Brian Rittershausen

Orchids - Michael Tibbs

Complete guide to orchids
- American Orchid Society

I don't know if they answer all your questions, but they're easy introductions with some nice pictures and culture information.

If you check out orchid guides on Amazon there are loads and I'm sure many of them are pretty similar in contents.

Happy reading!

Understanding Orchids by William Cullina is an excellent book from beginner on through to experienced grower.

I also have this book. Very good beginners book. But if you really want the best advice, just come here and post it. We are not a general book about orchids. We "GROW" (and kill) orchids. And we always answer questions. The only dumb question is the one not asked.

Almost all the information that you can get from a book can be found online for free. If you do want to get a book, I agree with Bill, Understanding Orchids by William Cullina. It's my favorite orchid book.

I'm always wary of anything from isolated net offers as well, I always want a review first.

I'm found all the information I want online, by asking questions here or by searching.

Orchids Made Easy book -- any good? Female
Default Orchids made easy

I am too am looking for this book. However, I do subscribe to The Orchids made easy newsletter that Ryan Levesque offers. I know this book is very expensive in my opinion. I am keeping an eye out for any that have been donated to the organizations that accept donations. I do like some of the simple suggestions that I have received in the newsletter for now, until I do find this book. I suggest taking out a subscription to this free newsletter "Orchids made easy"com." and see what you think of his tips that comes right from his book. I'd start there. Good luck.
