In the past I've been able to get plants at Lowe's for a discount if they lose their blooms. I just went to Customer Service and they were find with that.

Just got back from Lowes, found a cart full of orchids on their way to clearance. =) I got two of them, one of which is pushing out a new branch off of its spike! I am hoping it doesn't get cranky from being changed to a new environment and stop growing it! Question, though, is it okay to repot it even while it's doing that?

Default Lowes

Theres 3 different vendors for Lowes orchids Its Costa Farms which usually supply Lowes phal section thats been left Noids with no tags. The other Company is SunBulb Co which supplies the Bag babies( they all have tags). One other I cant seem to recall offhand at the moment also supplies the shelf ready to sell and blooming section and they are from Texas..
The Bag Babies can be some nice finds. Found a few odd encyclias like an Encyclia Rio Gracias with a spike to boot, and an Epicattleya Mae Bly Ive never seen before. Got 3 vandas that had bloomed already Got Red Purple and Yellow ones. One Brassavola hybrid was blooming in the BAG. Got a Brassavola Yellow Bird with spikes but not blooming yet. Yah you take these home they dont do squat and left in the store suffocating in a baggie they bloom. Go figger. For 12.97 for the bagged catts that aint bad for blooming sized well grown plants. Of course look for rot in the bags bec it does happen. Especially when you know how they water these. But be careful and dont introduce any bugs or rot to your collection from the half priced section.

The small & large phals that came in at Easter were from Costa & they all had tags. They also had clear pots so you could check the roots!

Sun bulb / Better Gro also does some self watering pots at lowes. A square orchid only pot & a large round combo planter. I've gotten several on clearance & these orchids do awesome for me. They are super healthy. Definitively worth snatching these up if you see them cheap. They are $25-30 at full price and I've gotten mine for $3-$10. I'm even regretting not buying one at full price that I really liked, since a big healthy phal is certainly worth $25 if you really like the flower.

Edit: photos in separate post.

I wish we had one here on the island. There are some on the mainland but we seldom go there. Our stores only have paphs and cyms.
