oh sorry I looked at the pics the first time I posted then forgot about them

I cant see anything but it sounds like mold, again I would just cut the bad roots off and put some cinnamon

Normal cinnamon powder should suffice, correct? I am soaking bark right now and followed your earlier instructions for sterilizing the pot I will plant her in. =) I am looking forward to repotting her but I am so scared she will drop all her flowers and die, lol.

yes just normal cinnamon that you should have in your kitchen.

Your flowers may come off but thats just because repotting is very stressful but I think your orchid will be fine.

I just repotted her and I forgot the cinnamon! >.<! Should I take her out and sprinkle it on and then put her back? Or should I put some in the bark medium? It totally slipped my mind! She also had very few roots that weren't dead, I ended up cutting a lot of papery brown/black ones..the moss was WAY compacted.

I only use cinnamon on rhizome cuts, or foliage. Getting cinnamon on good roots causes them to dry out. So, if using around roots be careful

I only cut the roots, so..that's good to know. Now I don't feel so bad. She was already dried out enough. Thanks!

No just leave it its fine you dont want to upset the plant by taking it out of its pot just to put the cinnamon on.

If you put to much cinnamon on the roots it can inhibit root growth so the next time you repot if you put cinnamon on the roots dont put alot. Cinnamon should work like a natural fungicide so I like to put a little on the roots when I cut them.
