Thanks for the recommendations above! I just received my copy of Understanding Orchids by William Cullina and it truly a helpful book. I especially am enjoying the section that lists the hybrid genera because I have read about many different orchids on this forum and had no idea what they were or how they were related to the common genera. The section on the common genera is also very helpful in that it lists many of each genera's requirements and tells whether it is for a beginner or more experienced grower.

I am looking forward to reading this book cover to cover as I have the time. In the meantime I just had to order a few more seedlings that I just discovered!
