Default spike not growing

Hi all, I currently have four phals that are in spike, they all started at the same time and are growing at different rates, but three of them are already at least one inch long.

There is one, however, that started up and is maybe 1/4 inch long and doesn't seem to be growing much, if at all. Is there something I can be doing to stimulate its growth? Do spikes ever just abort growth?

Thanks!

Hi! I hope that someone who knows more will chime in.... But as far as I know, I think some spikes can abort, I'm just not quite sure of the reasons, although, my guess is that one of them is stress (shipping, being bug dinner, culture shock... etc.)

I actually was checking this thread to see the reasons behind this, because I have a similar situation... Good Luck!

If spike stops growing for some season other than sudden change in its environment, there's nothing you can do to make it grow. It's up to the plant.

Changing anything at this point might only make it worse, not better. So leave the plant where it is and wait. Only time will tell whether it will abort its spike or resume the growth.
