Ideas for a particular Dendrobium collection
New here! First post, but I've read a lot!
So I've been trying to find some really nice orchids to add to my collection and i have a somewhat particular sweet spot.
I absolutely adore Deciduous Dendrobiums that flower on old leafless canes, but I prefer ones which flower close to the canes and which flower ALL OVER the canes, instead of on long inflorescences (though i would settle for long inflorescences if they were also ALL OVER the canes). I own a Dendrobium Aphyllum which is basically the (plant) love of my life. I also just ordered a Dendrobium Fimbriatum which isn't quite perfect because it has longer inflorescences and isn't quite as "naked" as the Den. Aphyllum when it flowers. Aphyllum and other Dens. with a fairly severe winter rest are also very ideal for me because they can handle my treks to and from college and being left at the dorms for the short breaks that force me away from them.
I find myself having trouble finding more examples of the type of Dendrobiums I love. Another favorite i don't own at the moment is Dendrobium Miyakei. I've also considered Den. Anosmum but it seems really similar to Den. Aphyllum, but if people disagree please let me know! I would love ideas and knowledge from other people who might share my interest! (Fragrance is always a PLUS!)
