Phal flowr color

Sorry I have no pictures at this time but I'll get them. I have a really beautiful phal that looked like a bright purple color with white stripes and a dark purple corner i'n each of the petals. It's hard to explain but it's very distinct and beautiful. Well I just got it to rebloom but the flower is lacking 75% of the previous color. It's like fully white with a few purple specs i'n the middle of the petal with a nice colored lip. The lip is normal btw. Is this a culture problem or a pest or something?

I do use superthrive once i'n a while but not very often. Roots look great, leaves are a little on the dark side. I was very disappointed i'n the outcome cuz I was expecting something so different. Oh well. Let me know what u think and I'll give you guys a before and after pic later.

Hey Shiff. Two things, and I'll get the obvious one out first. This wasn't one of those dyed Phals right?
I assume it isn't, and if that's the case, there are a few things that can affect the color on a bloom. Phal tetraspis/speciosa displays this most notably, with overall color being affected most by temperature and lighting conditions. Was the last time yours bloomed in winter? Is this your first time reblooming it? My vote would be it's flowering in different conditions (probably temperature) now, than the last time, and that is affecting overall bloom coloring.

Yes this was my first reblooming and it was received i'n winter last year . I repotted it into bark and it is i'n new conditions! And no it was not a dyed phal. So the temp and light/conditions definitelycan affect pigment then huh? That makes sense! Thanks for the quick response and good info! I'm always learning new stuff on here

And definitely not a virus or anything tho right? It's not blotchy or strange shaped. The shape is perfect, just as it was just much less color. I'll add pics cuz obviously you couldn't tell a viruses plant from just a description haha

If you were thinking virus, you'd look for color break, or places where the color seems to suddenly and drastically differ from nearby regions, especially when one petal differs from the other. If that's not the case, I wouldn't think virus would be at the top of the list. Especially, given you are saying it bloomed in winter, and now it's different blooming in the heat of summer, where temp and light are probably stronger.

Yes, it is definitely definitely different bloom times because i have a picture that i took of the flower in my office on December 14th. . Ya i dont believe its a virus but i always worry lol.

Yup they uploaded. Wow, that is quite a difference, but I dont think that's virus at all. That screams growth changes. Maybe a winter flowering will be darker.
Also, if you ever get a dual spike, you can put something between them to grow each in a different env't, and you'll get 1 spike of one type, and the other will be different. Always a fun thing to try.

I know huh!!! It is such a difference that i thought maybe it wasnt the plant i thought it was. :-/ well maybe it'll get better as it acclimates and cools down. The plant is super healthy otherwise. The roots are nice and green with some growing tips. The leaves are a nice green color, maybe on the dark side but its also pumping out new leaves. I was just hoping for the same looking flower as last time so you could imagine my disappointment. I guess it doesnt look bad though, still a cute little flower. Just not as good :P

Try moving it to a slightly brighter location. It may make the flowers bloom darker.

Wow, that is much different. I have a NoID Phal that recently bloomed with slightly less "freckles" than it did before but it was still very similar. Yours is drastically different; I can see why you are disappointed.
