Default Do different types of Orchids bloom at different times?

Like do some bloom in the winter and others in the spring?
If so, It would be great if I could get a list of the orchids that bloom in the different seasons.

The short answer is yes. Unfortunately, since the orchid family is soooooooooooo huge, an exhaustive list would be near impossible. However, I'm sure the people here would be able give you some seasonal bloomer ideas. There are also some books on the subject. Wish I could add to your list but at this time I only know the boom cycles of a few.

Phals can bloom anythime of the year because nurseries control the temperature and light which is a major trigger for blooms in most orchids, but generally in OUR care Phals produce spike after fall and will bloom late winter right through to early summer. As for Cattleya some bloom in winter hope this helps a bit.

I'm trying to remember, but I could have sworn there was a lengthy post here from the community that listed people's thoughts on year round blooms. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I'll keep looking.

There are some phals that are summer bloomers too, and orchids that have sequential blooming so they are nearly almost always in bloom.

I have a reed stemmed epidendrum orange ball that has only been out of bloom for 3 weeks of the last year and a half. So far it's my best bloomer. My favourite vanda blooms 3 to 4 times a year and lasts over 2 months each time.

I thought I remembered a thread on this subject. I thought it was a very lengthy thread, but this is the only decent one I found:

What plants for a small (8-12) collection for 4 season blooming

If you get enough orchids of varying types, you'll usually have at least one or two blooming at any given time hehe

Sequential bloomers (some Phals, some Paphs most notably), and plants that hold blooms a long time (some Phals, Cyms, some types of Dens - I know that Dens from the Latouria section hold blooms 3-4 months, there are others as well), are also helpful to ensure always having SOMETHING blooming

Some can bloom multiple times a year when a bit older (mini and compact Catt hybrids, some Vanda alliance hybrids, some Oncidiums and Oncidium alliance hybrids)

Has worked for me, anyway - I don't have a particular focus on any specific type of orchid, so have a variety. Have gotten what I like that I think I can grow with my conditions, and usually have at least one or two blooming at any given time.

I agree with White Rabbit. I only have about 50 plants but there is always something in bloom. Actually, if I had a fraction of that number, as long as they are the right ones there is always something in bloom. I have a variety of types as well.
