Default my ghost orchids

so yeah I've looked at past threads of people with ghost orchids and tried to duplicate what they did to successfully grow their ghosts. Right now my biggest concern is air circulation cause some people say none and some say a decent amount. the temps are between 70-85 degrees F, and i have a humidifier that i turn on through most of the day on low so the humidity is usually 95% or more. I spray them once a day with water, and i have a cold neon, and a warm neon. I have concerns though cause they have been out of the flask for like a month and haven't done much.

Put a "pond" under them. Years ago I stole them in the Fakkahatchee and grew them over a tub(200gallon) of water lilies with great success.

Get the moss out from under them.

Arenal - stealing protected plants is a Federal offence, and as it was a plant that is quite endangered and only lives in that one place, is pretty crappy, in my mind.

Seriously? You just bragged about stealing a plant from the swamps and taking it home? Like Ray said, that's really crappy.

As to growing them, hopefully flhiker or others will chime in, but the only time I ventured around that area, the air was pretty stagnant.

Rinzo,

From the pictures your ghosts are looking good compared to mine.

I got similar looking one from Oak Hill Gardens a month ago and it also has moss under it. The plant hasn't been doing that well - roots are starting to rot. It's such a delicate plant, I'm worried I will do more damage to it by taking moss out than if I leave it alone. Any suggestions? I have been keeping it in a bell jar set up with aquatic plants and lots of pebbles in one inch of water. The stick on which the ghost is attached to is laying against the glass wall and only the bottom tip is touching little bit of water. I added rubber feet to the lid so that there is some air exchange in the jar. Sorry, I would post a pic, but I'm at work right now.

Arenal, removing any plants from the wild is lame, but stealing endangered ones is a crime.

ive seen pics of ghosts with moss under them and they seem to be doing really well, i would say if you dont want to remove the moss then only water it twice a week, and see if that helps.

I'll not argue that at all. Young and dumb, I suppose.
I was in the army at the time-----proving the dumb part.

I think they look good. Having chatted with someone who was having some success growing one (she lives on the edges of a swamp), seems they are VERY slow growers, so don't judge your success by how fast they grow.
