Default Painted wooden baskets?

Is there a problem in painting a wooden basket for orchid use?

What are you painting it with? Some paints emit gasses for quite a long time. I dont know if they would hurt the orchid though.

There is a supplier in FL that makes vanda baskets from some sort of polymer that looks good. They should be at a show near you soon, I think. Hicks is who I am talking about. I dont know if this would fit your application or not.

I haven't painted anything yet, just wondering if it can be done without problems.

I have seen the baskets from Hick's, a few other vendors also carry them.

A friend of mine makes them herself so I'm thinking hubby is in for a project

My orchid is in a plastic basket which is put in an wooden basket. Perhaps this could be an alternative for you.
