Give it time, it may actually grow a new leaf from the center. I have a couple that had something happen to the center leaf and I figured it was crown rot and it would be game over. However, they have put out new leaves from the center since then.

maybe your olive oil treatment wasnt so good for the plant.....alcohol is the method to use, it doesnt damage the new growth....gl

Dear all,

I have a very very bad news today... Was watering my Phals like every week when this Phal suddenly tip over and the Keiki broke off from the node

It has grown quite a bit and was so shock to see it broken. i just realize too that my Phal lower leave have had the most impact.. Cause it was broken like a cut.

This is what's left of the broken keiki. I hope it didn't stress the Phal hard enough to die >: Could someone please advise me what should i do. Should i cut the stem all the way down like removing the spike?

Shin...

No. Just leave it alone. It may grow flowers or even a new keiki. The leaves look a little stressed though. Are you watering it too much? After an orchid has sat around getting bugs, they are stressed and don't like too much water. Misting them helps them more than drenching them with too much water. Keep checking the roots. Thewy should stay nice and greenish white. They also like a good breeze but not dry air.

Hi james thank you for replying. I am just keeping my fingers cross about it, hope it will grow a new keiki .
Well this was the Phal that have load of the white cotton bugs before i treat it with Olive Oil (before i know alcohol works just about the same.)

I water my Phal every 7- 8 days... Usually wait till it is slightly dry before watering it. There are loads of healthy roots growing in the pot and now more aerial roots. A much closer look on the phal >:<
