Talking My oldest Phal has a spike!

My seven year-old, or Mr Picky as we can call it, had a pleasant surprise for me when I looked at it the other day: a spike!

Just like all of my oldies, this guy hasn't bloomed in two-three years, due to neglect. This guy though, has never been a regular bloomer. It has bloomed every second year or so, never every year, so I wasn't really expecting it to bloom this year either.

It's the largest blooming phal I've got, I'm more of a small-sized flowers person really, but this old NoID will stay. If I can find this thread I'll update it later when the buds have started forming, and later when it blooms. For now, you'll have to do with a picture of the spike.

I hope you're able to see the spike.

Yup, AND some new roots too.

Thanks! I'm very happy, I think my Phals like their new and improved owner.
