Default 14 new babies!!!

Here's what I got at Redlands yesterday. They are all bare-root plants. I haven't been able to find any info on some of them, so I'm going to see what I can find out through our club's library at our meeting Saturday...

1. Equestris Species Hill Brook AM/AOS Lavender Pink to
Blue
This will have little pinkish blooms that bloom in January and last for 5 months. A keiki forms at the end of the stem and then the blooms start all over again. Sounded interesting and the sample they had, in bloom was very pretty.

2. Rhynochovanda Colmarie
This is a rhynchostylis x vanda cross. The sample looked just like a renanthera with a large spray of small blooms. The sample I saw looked a little more red than the internet photo I saw, which is more dark purple. We'll see. Either way, very pretty. Fragrant!

3. Phaiocalanthe Kryptonite 'Chariot of Fire'
I saw this plant on the 'net and fell in love with the color. It's a deep red with a white lip. Gorgeous! I went to the show with this one on my list and actually found it!

4. D. Kiyumi Sabin x Mdm. Udomsri
No info...to be researched.

5. D. Angel Pink
No info...to be researched.

6. D. Thongchai Gold x Kasem Gold
No info...to be researched.

7. D. Pegasus
Found a picture...very pretty pink. Will be researching for more info.

8. Den. Mauial Uraiwan
No info...to be resarched.

9. Ren. Tom Thumb 'Pauwela'
Had this one on my list too! It was in the display of another club at our recent show and I instantly fell in love with it. Sort of a small (or rather, short) plant with long sprays of bright red blooms. Stunning!

10. Den. amethystoglossum
Found some pictures, gorgeous and fragrant! Will research for more info.

11. L. Purpurata var flamea 'Valley Isle' x self
Beautiful large blooms. This one will be a beauty!

12. Den Sulcatum 'Golden Ball' x self
Gorgeous yellow blooms, profuse. Can't wait to see this...I've realized lately that I'm drawn to the yellows.

13. Den Farmeri x den griffithianum
Haven't seen a picture of this cross but it should be beautiful. It seems they used the griffithianum to cut back on the size of the farmeri. The farmeri is one of my favorites (again, yellow!) and I'm looking forward to seeing this one in action.

14. Asctm. ampullaceum 'Mr. Del-Rei'
This one is a miniature that I will try in my new mounting obsession (haven't done any yet).

Out of the 14 I think I can use 2 or 3 to mount on the large piece of driftwood I have. I went to the show thinking I was going to concentrate on minis for my project. I got home with 2, maybe 3 minis out of 14...I couldn't really concentrate on anything there! It was like being a kid in a candy store...wonderful

Sounds like you got some good stuff! I only had the courage to show up at home with three orchids after the NYC show.

I can hardly wait to see what they'll all look like! A friend of mine bought the OrchidWiz software and was nice enough to look up my mystery 'chids. She said 3 of them seem to be unregistered hybrids. We'll just have to wait and see.
I took a lot of pictures at the show and made them into a movie, here's a link to the site for viewing, if you're interested...
