1. How big was the orchidarium in comparison to the Vanda?

2. What were the temperatures like in the orchidarium when you had the Vanda?

3. What kind of pot or basket was it in? What was the potting media, if any?

4. What was the lighting situation?

5. Did the orchidarium have air circulation?

6. What were the symptoms associated with its demise?

7. I recall you said something about insects attacking the Vanda, is this correct to assume?

8. Where did you buy it from?

9. How long did you have it for?

10. Was it growing at all under your care?

11. What was the humidity like when you had it?

12. Do you have pics of the deceased Vanda?

Just from not having enough information this is what I've got to say so far...

Honestly, my opinion is that, I wouldn't be growing a Vanda in an orchidarium.

Vandas generally get very large, although, there are a few exceptions. An orchidarium may not be able to accommodate most Vandas in the long run due to size.

Air circulation may not be good enough for Vandas in an orchidarium.

Lighting may also be a problem, since most of them are high light orchids. Which means the orchidarium may require a metal halide lighting system in order for it to work out.

Again, there are a few exceptions where some species grow well under moderate indirect light.

Like I said, without too much information, this is what I think at the moment.

Your right, I dont think I knew enough about vandas. I still dont. I ordered it from ebay, it was maybe about 8" tall when I got it, it didnt grow at all. I just thought it was pretty back then and bought it. I had alot of confidence but didnt do the research. Next time I will know better. I had it in a clay pot with holes all over it in some bark from Repot Me. I took it out of the orchidarium bc it wasnt doing anything, and it didnt work. Maybe when I get home I can post a pic of it.
