Default broken root

Hi everyone,
When I was soaking a Vanda today, I accidentally broke a root off. I usually treat an open leaf wound with cinnamon powder, but I didn't know if I should do the same with a root since the powder is a dessicant. Would that be ok, or not? I would appreciate your advice, please.
Vicki

The end of the root is fine- that's what the cinnamon is used for half the time, for sealing cut roots- it's just another type of wound. Don't go crazy and cover the entire thing. I dip my finger in water, sprinkle on or dab it in cinnamon, and then coat the cut until it is solid brown. and then leave it.
For more "sticking" power, you can mix the cinnamon with Elmer's Glue.
